If you have ever been truly torn about whether to say yes to an opportunity, business or personal, and wished there was a formula to help you decide, well today is your lucky day!
Billionaire Warren Buffett once said, “The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything.”
Here are 5 opportunity criteria, or questions, I learned from Roger Hamilton that will help you determine what opportunities to say yes to and which to pass on.
1 – Is this something that follows my path? When I look at my future vision, does it fit and get me closer to that future vision?
2 – Is it something that I can add value to?
3 – Is this something I can leverage? Make everything positive, not distracting, and so by doing this we all benefit.
4 – If it fails, am I still motivated?
5 – If it succeeds, does it inspires me?
I believe he is spot on because we all know, the biggest cost of taking an opportunity is opportunity cost!
If you are too busy with the wrong opportunities you will miss the best opportunities for you! Fear not, with these 5 questions you will finally have a simple formula to determine what to say no to!
